What is the thing you regret most NOT saying?

I love you.

There are many things I've not said that I probably should have. Many things I should've done. Time passes and it doesn't get any easier, but I can't go back and relive my life. I can't go back and try again. I don't get second chances. Not when it counts. Not when they're needed.

Not when I need them. Never when it's needed.

I spend so much time facing down the things everyone else fears, I never have time to face my own. Perhaps that's why I never told him. I should have. So many times.

I love you.

He deserved to know; deserved to hear it from my own voice, not through the anguish of a miserable man. If only I could have a second chance at that. But, now my fear is that it may never be.
