I don't make wishes.

More romance and poetry. Talk to Rachel about those things.

I don't wish for things; I just do them. Wishing accomplishes nothing.

There's a sly grin there, but not too sly. He's not giving anything away.

"You can't be any older than me," Munch said. "How old are you anyway?"

"Old enough to have just enough money, but too old for wishes and dreams."

Because there's not a chance in hell Munch would EVER believe that he's 486.

*snorts* "Same here. Of course, having 4 ex-wives doesn't help with that."

Connor grins.

"Ah, that might do it."

He pauses. "You from New York?" He's pretty good with accents. His accent probably sounds all over the place.

"Originally from Baltimore, but I moved to NEw York a few weeks back. You?"

He shrugs. "Been here a while. Antique shop on Hudson St. Name's Nash. Russell Nash."

"Ah. Nice to meet you. John Munch."

[ooc -- just realized, a few years back he moved to NY... grrrr]

"Munch?" Connor narrows his eyes. "You a cop?"

"As a matter of fact I am." *eyes Connor suspiciously* "You've heard of me?"

Connor shakes his head.

"I just can tell a cop. You act like a cop, but a sophisticated cop. If that helps."

"Yeah well, most people would call me paranoid or a hypochondriac," Munch said sarcastically. "Not sophisticated."

[yeah I'm sure they prolly bumped into each other at some point. Munch goes to bars occasionally.]

"I just meant you weren't an annoying beat cop that's gonna try to shake me down for something inconsequential."

"Ah, not annoying huh? Benson would beg to differ with you there."

"Who's Benson?"

Connor thinks this could get interesting... or, at the very least, amusing.

"Right. You annoy her on purpose or does it come naturally?" he asks with a grin.

"At least it's an offense we probably won't get arrested for."

"If so I'd have been arrested years ago!"

Connor laughs.

"Beer or Scotch? Bar on the corner has both."

Yes, Connor's buying.

Cue pups walking to bar and ordering drinks.

Connor nods. "Always good. He still on the force?"

"He passed away a couple months ago."

"Sorry to hear that. Shall we drink to him?"

Connor raises his glass to John.
